A Few Suggestions for Keeping Your Jewels Sparkly
Sterling silver is known to oxidize quite quickly, especially in sulphur or hot tubs. The oils on your skin help to reduce tarnish, depending on body chemistry, so the best measure to prevent this is wearing your jewelry often but removing when you are in hot springs or tubs.
Sterling Silver, 10k & 14k gold can be cleaned using a mild detergent (such as dish soap) and a soft bristled toothbrush to gently clean away tarnish & dirt.
Polishing cloths and polishing compounds can also help remove any build up or oxidization.
Most stones can handle a gentle detergent and bristle. However, certain stones are a little more fragile to cleaning and lifestyles. Opals and pearls prefer to be taken extra care of, and require only a soft cloth for polishing.
If you are unsure of cleaning your stone, please get in touch or ask a reputable jeweller.
